Ghosts don't haunt houses people do:

Thomas Edison was considering a machine to speak with the dead. 

Was his intent to broadcast via microphone and transmitter to the other side? Or as science would now offer, an alternate reality which would infer that those communicating are not truly dead?

It is my intent to set up design test location protocol to attempt to prove or disprove my theories.  As part of this test I plan to ask the assistance of interested parties from around the world to document their own research so that it may be of scientific value both to me and to other researchers.

I want  to attract the attention of those on the other side if possible and one day establish  permanent communication channels. At the very least I hope to be able to predict the location and time of future phenomena.

This is a project that I have been considering for years. I feel confident that the time for a large scale cooperative effort is right. 

The equipment necessary and the scope of science has progressed to the point that we might make use of the data collected. By chance should this not be the right time, it is expected it will be in the very near future. 

For years and years so called rational skeptics have discounted hauntings and communication with those who are devoid of a corporeal body. None made an effort to rationally attack the problem. This is my attempt. 

Please remember that because a magician can duplicate or fake a desired effect it proves nothing except for the skills of that performer. For example, not long ago Swedish scientists made a frog float in a small chamber surrounded by a very strong electro magnet. I, as well as most magicians, can make many things float. Does this negate the work of the Swedish scientists? It does not- the frog floated. 

Since I can make a frog float does that infer that the scientists were pulling an elaborate hoax, possibly to keep receiving research money? I am sure you get my point.
