Sure people are shocked when they find out that the same guy who owns Applied Thought Technologies, lectures, designs and optimizes learning and psychological systems, is a Master Magician, and Paranormalist  also presents a specialty act with balloons. And not just any act but the pinnacle of balloon performance art.

You watch the audience and no matter who who they may be, they are riveted. They are involved and become part of the act. The show/act could serve as a text book example of how to structure any presentation or show (as a matter of fact he uses it to explain the psychology of group dynamics  to high school and collage students).

Or so goes the tail that Jim begins as he leads his audience through the most memorable balloon presentation of all time.

"When I was a kid my father used to get mad at me for behaving like this. Now I get paid for it." An explanation as the audience recovers from a truly shocking turn in the tale. The unexpected appearance of a artificial hand and Jim's  subsequent behavior.

The entire audience becomes his unwitting assistants and is engaged as part of the presentation.

Often to close the show Jim will demonstrate his surreal version of group hypnosis.
